What to expect during your first visit
You've decided to take the first step to becoming a chiropractic patient!
Congratulations and welcome to the start of a healthier life.
Here's what you can expect:
1. Please plan to arrive 10-15 minutes before your scheduled appointment time to fill out the paperwork or print the paperwork, fill it out, and bring it with you to your first appointment. If the patient is 12 years old or younger, please fill out the Pediatric New Patient Form.
2. We will discuss with you why you are in the office and what you want help with- a chronic pain, a new pain, or wellness care.
3. We will review your paperwork with you and ask any additional questions that we may have- this is to help us get a better picture of your past and current health status.
4. We will perform an exam- this will include height, weight, and blood pressure. Then we will begin our chiropractic exam. This will entail testing your muscle strength, reflexes, and sensations along your skin. We will also do some orthopedic tests to determine where your pain is coming from. If needed, we may refer you out for further imaging such as X-rays (not done in every case).
5. We will discuss the results of our exam and lay out a treatment plan that we think will work best for you. This is where we really want your input. Our treatment plans only work if you, the patient, feel that it is necessary. We want to include you in your health care, so let us know what your goals are so that we can work on achieving them! We will do our best to make the perfect plan for YOU.
6. If indicated, we will treat you the same day. The only exception is if further imaging or testing needs to be done first.
7. You will start to feel the benefits of your first treatment immediately!
Plan for your first appointment to last 1 hour. Subsequent appointments range between 15-30 minutes in length, depending on what treatments are required.
